With years of experience behind us in family problems we have come to the conclusion that the main obstacles to family unity are our own governments. The governments claim that families and grandparents are important in a child’s life but act in an opposite manner.
It is of our opinion that Government funded Woman’s Aid are actively engaged in keeping families apart by counselling resident parents on how to keep grandparents and non resident parents out of a child’s life, because of this education they are learning how to flout court orders. I do not state this with malice but to try to find a way for them to do their very worthwhile job and still protect the innocent, namely the children and grandparents that are victimised through no fault of their own. Woman’s Aid refused to meet with us in an attempt to resolve.
The government via social services also excludes any family member if they are not in total agreement to what social services want. They fabricate meetings and add on what suits their case and this muddies up the real best interests of the child. The government is turning a blind eye to this as long it is said to be in the child’s best interest and often it is in the social services best interests. All this muddying of the rules confuses everyone.
Social services are infamous at making huge mistakes regarding the care of children therefore it is questionable that they should have the power to override a child’s family who love the children and care for them in a holistic manner.
The forgotten children are children that are in a drug or alcohol home where no-one can get to them if they are being abused until the unthinkable happens. We all know of a family that are not treated right like the NSPCC show in their adverts. The law can protect the abusers by granting them banning orders for grandparents or anyone else. There is a 37% rise in drug and alcohol fatalities (one nearly every day) “Who” is looking out for these children that are involved? No-one!
Don’t vote in lawyers at elections. Vote for people like yourself who know how you live and what you need.
The Forgotten Children of Drug and Alcohol abuse.
The above was put to the SNP Government by Grandparents Apart UK their answer was “We have nothing further to add to our previous correspondence with you” Turning a blind eye will not make the abuse go away. It is obvious they had no answers to this problem or are even willing to resolve it. They have previously stated they also have no answer to non-compliance of court orders.
The unique relationship children could have with their grandparents must be explored and supported to the full for the welfare of our children. The ethos of the Charter for Grandchildren is not being considered. There is an army of grandparents out there where the majority of them would be delighted to help should problems arise in their offspring’s home. For example, if their mum or dad is unable to look after them it would benefit the child to be cared for in a known home environment until they can be returned to their parents rather than being taken to strangers or forced adopted.
The effects of total exclusion from their birth family can be with them all their lives and lead to insecurity and problems for society when they grow up with a rejected non achiever bitter attitude.
